While cases of COVID-19 may be starting to plateau, San Mateo County health officials are worried that the virus may still pose a threat to the hospital in the coming weeks. Hospitals are facing staffing shortages and community transmission of the virus remains high. Health officials continue to urge the public to get vaccinated.
On Monday, one of Silicon Valley's top philanthropists died. John Arrillaga, 84, donated hundreds of millions in contributions to his alma mater, Stanford University, where many athletic and recreational facilities bear his name.
