Good morning! City council today plans to adopt a new district map, which would take effect in 30 days.
According to some city council members, the map, which was advanced during the last city council meeting, would boost the votes of marginalized communities. One caveat: Some voters may not have a say in the next election should the district boundaries shift with the new map. Remember, this is all on the Consent Agenda, so that doesn't mean it's set in stone.
It's an election year. And here are the districts up for election: District 2, District 5 and District 6.
COVID-19 is still very much a thing…
So wear your mask, get your shots and get boosted. According to San Mateo County and Redwood City, there have been a total of 14,577 cases in the city and 3,871 cases in North Fair Oaks as of Feb. 25.
Signing off,
Michelle
P.S. Some of y'all have sent me some amazing story ideas and I'm very thankful.
