Happy Friday!
What's in a name?
Orgullo and Educación. The OYE Conference returns Saturday for its 10th anniversary with the theme Construyendo Juntos. Join other Latinx youth to watch dancers, performers and to find resources on mental health, physical health, immigration and housing. The fun starts at 9 a.m. at Cañada College. Entry is free. Get there early for your pan dulce.
Women of Courage
Do you know any outstanding San Mateo County female-identifying people between the ages of 18-30 who have made the world a better place? Please keep reading to see how they may be able to win $25,000.
Gooooal!
Or at least that's what we'll all be yelling at tomorrow's Bay Cities FC home opener at Sequoia Stadium. Don't forget to catch the game. This is your friendly reminder.
One last thing…
I want to give a shoutout to the Vets over at the American Legion Post 105 Redwood City, who recently extended a check of $800 to the Tonga Consul General Sela Tukia. Tonga is still reeling from the undersea volcanic eruption and the tsunami that followed. Thank you for your service!
Until next time,
Michelle
