Good morning!

The County has officially approved the purchase of the Comfort Inn & Suites.

As part of the County's goal of effectively ending homelessness, the hotel, a 51-room complex at 1818 El Camino Real in downtown Redwood City, is slated to become a site for permanent, affordable housing. The County has received state funds, as well as a large contribution from Redwood City, for this housing project. Units are expected to be ready by early 2023. You can read more about that here.

Tonight at 6 p.m., the Trustees of the Sequoia Union High School District are meeting to discuss, among other things, the revised trustee area map. The process started earlier this spring to accommodate population changes noted in the 2020 census. Residents are invited to attend and provide feedback on the new trustee areas.

Speaking of maps, we have a deep-dive on Redwood City's redistricting process—the history and what it means for residents—coming out this week. Stay tuned…

And stay cool today!

Leah
