Good morning, Redwood City!

72-foot cross

Today our history blogger one of the most striking features of Emerald Hills—a tall Easter Cross. Dating back nearly a century, the cross overlooks Redwood City and the rest of the peninsula. Read more about that history here.

Persian New Year

Join your neighbors in celebrating Nowruz, the Persian New Year, on Saturday at the downtown Redwood City Library Plaza. From 12 p.m.-2 p.m. there will be music, dancing and crafts for the whole family. Nowruz, which means "new day" in Persian, has been celebrated for more than 3,000 years by people around the world from Iran to Kazakhstan to Turkey.

Chag Sameach and Happy Passover to all who celebrate!

Have a good weekend,

Leah
