Good morning!

Ferry Service

Tonight, City Council will approve the signing of an MOU between the city and the Port to begin Phase 3 of the ferry service. The ferry service project has been in the works forever, but this latest MOU moves the project from the business phase into the planning, permitting and design phase and is estimated to last about three years. Per the city, the project will be funded by a $3.5 million Transportation Authority grant.

The Price is Right

Redwood City Police debuted their new Hybrid Police Interceptors last week in a very flashy way. In a video posted to the official Redwood City Police Department TikTok account, an officer can be seen walking into an old police cruiser while the words "Out with the old" appear on the video. As the car drives away and hits the highway, day turns to night, police lights start flashing, and the old cruiser turns into the new Ford Explorer Hybrid Police Interceptor. The words "In with the new" appear on the screen. Not a bad TikTok video, if we're being honest. The city is set to sign a purchase agreement tonight for five Interceptors in the amount of $305,322.

There is soooo much more on the agenda tonight. Be there!

More news to come.
