September 5, 1939 – December 16, 2022

Natividad Oteiza, age 83, of Redwood City, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.
She was born the youngest of twelve siblings in the small town of Ciga, Spain, to Miguel and Juana Azpiroz. It is there that she met her future love and husband, Salvador Oteiza. In 1968, the couple was married in the beautiful city of Pamplona, Spain. In 1971 Natividad and Salvador made the biggest trek of their lives to start anew in America and established what would be their forever home in Redwood City, California.

A loving mother to four children, Michael, Carmen, Albert, and Janet, Natividad was an exceptional homemaker and a remarkable cook. Through her enjoyment of preparing meals for her family and friends was the greatest way she expressed her love for those around her. It was during the holiday season that she would find her true passion for cooking and share it with her children and later her grandchildren. Many loving memories were made in the kitchen at the Oteiza household. She was a devout catholic woman who spent Sundays at her beloved Parish of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Redwood City. She was loved by all who knew her, and her radiant smile and warm presence will be greatly missed.
Natividad is preceded in death by her parents, Miguel and Juana Azpiroz, her husband, Salvador Oteiza, and her sister, Anuncia, who lived with the Oteiza family for over 20 years.

Natividad is survived by her brother in law, Cruz Oteiza, her four children, Michael (Daniela), Carmen (John), Albert (Kendra), Janet, and her grandchildren, Juliana, Dominic, Dino, Olivia, Sam, and Remi. May Natividad rest in the warm, peaceful thoughts of all who loved her. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Redwood City on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at 10:30am.
