A pilot and a passenger suffered minor injuries after a small plane crash landed at the San Carlos Airport Tuesday afternoon, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.
First responders located both of the crash victims outside of the wreckage on the northeast side of Airport Way, according to a sheriff's office spokesperson. They were found suffering from minor injuries to their hands and legs. Neither person was transported to the hospital or requested medical treatment.
The plane was found to have a fuel leakage, according to the sheriff's office. The plane was a Cessna 120, according to the Redwood City Fire Department who was on scene.
The National Transportation Safety Board will lead the investigation and was on the way, the spokesman said.
Airport Road is closed at Skyway Road while officials continue to investigate the incident.
