Good morning Redwood City,
It's been a busy week for us in our virtual newsroom. We're working on many stories that we hope to share with you soon, one of which is a short story about how a group of volunteers came together to help clean up the historic Union Cemetery.
And if you like history, check out our story by Douglas MacGowan about bootleggers in San Mateo County, where he listed five instances when residents were caught "attempting to find a covert way to get their cocktails and secular libations" during Prohibition.
Did you know that Redwood City used to be called the "Chrysanthemum Capital of the World?" It's true, and you can read more about it here.
You might have seen that yesterday we made a mistake in sending you the wrong newsletter. Well, I want to let you know a secret. We're human, too, and unfortunately, sometimes we make mistakes. I want to make a commitment to you that we will do our best to be transparent when it comes to our mistakes. If you found an error in one of our stories, let me know. I try my very best to make it right. So don't hesitate. Oh and here is the actual letter portion of our newsletter, written by staffer Leah Worthington.
And before I go, I do want to remind you that the city council is meeting on Monday night, so that you don't miss out on important information and your chance to speak during public comment.
Signing off,
Michelle
