Good morning, Redwood City!

It's that time of year again: The lights are twinkling, the bells are jingling and the local trains and buses are getting ready for their yearly holiday makeover.

That's right—the SamTrans holiday bus and Caltrain holiday train return to help reign in Redwood City's annual Hometown Holidays Festival & Parade. Read more about this weekend's festivities here (and keep an eye out for Frosty the Snowman and Santa’s elves).

If you've been hearing a lot about Redwood City's Housing Element, you're not alone. Here's the gist: Every 8 years, all cities in San Mateo County have to update their General Plan, which determines how everything from sidewalks to parks are managed. The Housing Element, a key part of this plan, has to do with all things housing—how much can be built? where? what will it look like? These questions will determine the next few years of housing developments in Redwood City.

Tonight, San Mateo County is hosting the fourth in a four-part webinar series, which will address questions around the location and design of new housing. All residents are invited to attend and provide input. More info and registration here.

And for all you lighting candles, happy fourth night of Hanukkah!

Signing off,

Leah
