The National Weather Service forecast for the San Francisco Bay Area calls for patchy fog and a slight chance of rain Tuesday morning, gradually clearing to sunny skies.

Daytime highs will be in the high 50s to low 60s, with overnight lows in the high 40s to low 50s.

A chance of rain returns Wednesday night and Thursday. Cool temperatures are forecast for later in the week and into the weekend, with frost likely in the valleys.

In Redwood City, expect a 30 percent chance of rain on Wednesday after 10 p.m. and a low around 47 degrees, according to the weather service.
