Good morning, Redwood City!

Can you believe we're already halfway through December? In just a few short weeks, we'll be celebrating New Year's Day!

Speaking of 2022, Redwood City is increasing its minimum wage to $16.20 per hour on Jan. 1. A minimum wage ordinance adopted back in 2018 makes it possible for the city to establish its own minimum wage, going above the state's minimum wage. More on that here

We've been talking to some fantastic folks over at the American Legion Post 105 who are collecting donations to bring holiday cheer to San Mateo County veterans. These vets are everyday superheroes

Another superhero I've had the pleasure of talking to is Ivan Martinez, the executive director at Redwood City Police Activities League. Martinez is also the co-founder of the first professional sports team in San Mateo County. Read more about Redwood City PAL and the new things Martinez is working on over there.

Do you have a story about a person or business doing amazing things for others during the holidays? We want to hear about it!

Signing off,

Michelle
