Good morning, Redwood City!
Yesterday’s County Board meeting was an eventful one.
It began with a reorganization of the supervisor roles for the coming year. Supervisor Don Horsley was appointed by his colleagues to serve board president for his third and final term.
Acknowledging that the pandemic is not yet over, he called for an equitable recovery and a return to a “a semblance of what we used to think of as normal life.”
The board also announced its intention to purchase the Comfort Inn & Suites Hotel, located at 1818 El Camino Real, across from Harry’s Hofbrau in Redwood City. The 51-room hotel, which will cost $17,000,000, is intended to provide affordable housing to low-income residents of San Mateo County. More on that to come.
That’s all for now. More stories coming your way!
Signing off,
Leah
