Good morning, Redwood City!
Housing, housing, housing
Housing is certainly the topic of the day in Redwood City, especially as work on the 2023-2031 Housing Element picks up speed.
In February, the draft Housing Element—which serves as a blueprint for the city’s housing needs over the next eight years—was released for public comment. Members of the public are invited to submit feedback (through next Friday, March 25), and to participate in the upcoming city council study session on March 21.
This Tuesday, the Planning Commission met to discuss two important topics (which we'll be hearing a lot more about in the coming months): environmental impacts and rezoning. You can read more about that in our news brief.
From the crime files
Did Harry Tucker lure Myrtle Douglas away from her home for illicit purposes?
This week, our crime blogger digs into the story of the “Redwood City Schoolgirl Lured Away From Home.” Not your average true crime yarn, this one is worth a read.
Feeling green?
If you're looking for somewhere to celebrate this St. Patrick's Day, you're in luck! (Pun intended.)
For the first time since 2019, St. Patty's Day festivities are back without restrictions, and our friends over at The Six Fifty have put together a list of activities throughout the area—including several right in Redwood City.
Happy Thursday!
Leah
