Head over to the Cantor Arts Center to view 68 photographs taken by Gordon Parks, famed photographer, filmmaker and author. Parks began as a freelance photographer and his two decades of work at Life spanned an impressive range of subjects, from Harlem gangs to fashion photographs of rich and famous celebrities.
In case you missed it…
State regulators Sims Metal recycling company to investigate potential pollution coming from its facility due to reports of hazardous releases there in past years. Concentrations of lead, zinc and copper that "exceeded hazardous waste levels" were collected during previous inspections and may have "migrated toward soil, groundwater, air, and neighboring properties, and surface waters, such as Redwood Creek and the San Francisco Bay."
