Good morning, Redwood City!
Today we've got a story for you about a new development coming to an unincorporated stretch of Woodside Rd.
The proposed, and recently approved, project to build six new townhouses along Rutherford Ave. was the source of much debate among residents and County Supervisors during Tuesday's Board meeting. While the developers have heralded these houses as an important source of new, high-density housing, many residents expressed concerns about protecting the tree canopy and the character and aesthetic of their neighborhood.
This is a story we're hearing play out more and more in the increasingly unaffordable San Mateo County. In fact, it reminds me a lot of a series of stories we published about new developments happening in North Fair Oaks.
More to come…until then, happy Thursday!
