Good morning,

Bridging the gap

The San Mateo County supervisors yesterday passed a resolution supporting SB 893, which would allow SMCCCD to lower the costs of tuition and give the district the flexibility to waive or reduce enrollment fees for students who might need it. Last month, the North Fair Oaks Community Council sent a letter to the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors, asking them to adopt a resolution in support of the bill.

Community Policing

The Redwood City Police Advisory Committee meets today to finalize its committee work plan. Priorities in the work plan include finding strategies on how to interact and respond to homeless people, discussing how to engage with the community, and finding ways in which to elevate concerns from socially marginalized communities, specifically those of the Hispanic/Latinx community. Don't miss it.

That's all for now.

Have a great day!

Michelle
