Robert Edward Goodwin, born January 14, 1926 in San Francisco passed away peacefully at home April 15, 2022 at the age of 96.
A third generation native San Franciscan, he served in the Merchant Marines during WWII. He is preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Goodwin, daughter Kathleen Goodwin Buscema and son-in-law Tim Collins. He leaves behind his daughters Victoria Collins and Lesley Goodwin; son-in-law Vince Buscema; adored granddaughters Colleen Sullivan (Keith) and Kathleen Collins; cherished great grandsons Owen and Luke Sullivan. He is also preceded in death by his parents Claire and Percy, as well as his siblings Jack, George and Lois.
Longtime member and past president of the Sunset Lions Club, lifetime member of The Olympic Club and The San Mateo Elks. He enjoyed years of wonderful summers with the family at their home in Hacienda at the Russian River. Bob was a devoted husband and father who loved life and had many great stories to tell. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 22 10am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Belmont, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11am, with a graveside service at 12:30pm at Holy Cross Cemetery, Menlo Park.
