Breaking point
Redwood City's low-income residents have reached a breaking point, they told city council on Monday night. Describing mold, crumbling walls and pest problems, they accused their landlords of willful neglect and harassment. They begged the council to do something.
Ultimately, council voted to approve new tenant protections and anti-displacement strategies. Still, organizers say, there’s much more work to be done—and the clock is ticking. More on that here.
Rally for rights
Nearly a week after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, a group of local leaders have organized a rally and vigil for reproductive rights in Redwood City. The itinerary is loose but includes music, speakers and opportunities to share.
