If at first you don't succeed…
Earlier this year, the city submitted its draft housing element to the state, with some revisions it made from the feedback it received from the San Mateo County's Housing Leadership Council. But last month, the state rejected the element, returned the draft element to the city and provided more than 10 pages of required revisions. Housing experts say that, while Redwood City’s draft element made some common mistakes and still contains significant barriers to building more affordable housing, it's on the right track. More here.
