Good morning!
Fixin' San Mateo County
The grassroots organization calling for greater oversight over the sheriff's office met with the county Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Commission on Tuesday to ask for its endorsement ahead of a board of supervisors vote on whether to pass a resolution to establish an oversight committee and an inspector general. The vote to send a letter of support passed, but not without some residents asking whether supporting Fixin' SMC was the correct choice. The group has been racking up endorsements from various organizations and agencies across San Mateo County.
What do you think? Do you think the Sheriff's Office needs an oversight board? How do you feel about Fixin' San Mateo County?
Elections
By the way, arguments for and against measures on the November ballot have been filed. They are available for viewing here. Here is the Redwood City Election Procedures Charter Amendment Measure. Here is the Mayoral Term Charter Amendment Measure, which would change the term from two years to one.
More news to come.
