Good afternoon, Redwood City!
We're in those in-between days where time doesn't exist because Christmas is officially over, and New Year's Day is just a skip, hop and jump away. I hope your holidays are going well, and you're not stuck in some god-forsaken airport cursing your life as half the country has been lately.
In the coming days, authorities will be out in full force, conducting checkpoints and monitoring drivers suspected of operating under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. There are plenty of ways to get around, from Ubers to Caltrain to SamTrans… You get the idea. So please don't risk it. As the saying goes, "Stay sober or get pulled over."
Here's some sobering news. Recent data from state and local health departments suggest that nearly 1 out of 4 people in San Mateo County have tested positive for COVID-19 since the pandemic began. As of Friday, 871 have died since it started.
Stay safe. And as always, more news to come.

PS: In the New Year, the Redwood City Pulse plans to bring back its morning Express, so you'll no longer see it at 3 p.m. Instead, you'll see it in your inbox every morning at 11 a.m. I don't know about you, but I prefer the morning slot with my coffee.
