Good morning, Redwood City!
The County is urging residents to prepare for the storm. If you're a procrastinator, this is your final warning. Sandbags are available at several locations around the County. Here's a link to that map. Redwood City also has sand and bags at the Public Works Department at 1400 Broadway.
On Tuesday, the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors will hear a report on the investigation into the sheriff's office raid on the workplace of an Indiana Batmobile-maker last year. For a refresher, read our stories here and here. But here's the oversimplified TLDR version: a guy in Atherton was mad that his toy- a real, life-sized Batmobile- had not been shipped from Indiana to California. He sued the Indiana man who makes the Batmobiles, but the case was dismissed on a technicality. The Atherton guy then asked the district attorney to press charges, but the DA said NO! So then the Atherton man asked the sheriff to investigate the Indiana man on the claim that the Indiana Batmobile maker had stolen his Batmobile. The sheriff complied and sent his deputies across state lines to raid the Indiana man's business and arrest the Indiana man. The DA pressed charges against the Indiana man. People got mad. The DA dropped the charges. The board of supervisors initiated an investigation into the raid. And here we are. The meeting is on Tuesday, March 14.
