The National Weather Service (NWS) said Sunday afternoon the Bay Area should expect frost and temperatures near freezing Monday morning, with the next rainstorm arriving late Monday.
Descending temperatures Sunday night into Monday morning could be hazardous to unsheltered people, the NWS said. Monday's rain will move southward through the middle third of the week, with rain coming in bands.
The heaviest rain is expected on Tuesday with strong gusts of wind. After brief breaks, the next banded rain will come through the Bay Area on Wednesday and Thursday.
The NWS said unsettled weather could keep light rain in the forecast next weekend.
