Good morning Redwood City!
Tonight's city council agenda is a big one.
Councilmembers will adopt a budget for the 2023-24 fiscal year after approving the first reading of a recommended $334 million budgetary plan for the upcoming year earlier this month.
And, seven seats on Redwood City's Police Advisory Committee will be filled tonight. Councilmembers heard from applicants last week about how they would each work to achieve the committee's mission of improving public safety for all people in the Redwood City community. Read our guide to the candidates here.
Councilmembers will also vote on a declaration to end a Stage 2 water shortage in the City of Redwood City, decide whether to approve an additional 80,000 sq. ft. to the maximum office development capacity in downtown and make amendments to the Downtown Precise Plan.
A group of Redwood City residents tonight will introduce a new housing ordinance to the Redwood City Council they say will help protect local immigrant families living in precarious conditions.
View tonight's agenda here. The public meeting begins at 6 p.m. at City Hall tonight. But don't worry if you can't make it— we'll be sure to keep you in the loop.
More news is on the way,
