Good morning, Redwood City.

This morning, the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors is holding a special session to study protections for renters in unincorporated parts of the County. A draft ordinance co-sponsored by Sup. Warren Slocum and Sup. Noelia Corzo presented this morning proposes protections for renters including:

– Notice and language access requirements

– Anti-retaliation and anti-harassment provisions

– More protective ' just cause ' eviction provisions

– 'Fair chance' requirements related to prospective tenants with past criminal justice system involvement

– Protection from eviction during the school year for educators and students

Read the draft ordinance, or view this presentation which highlights the main ideas.
