Hello Redwood City,

Because it's Friday, before we get to the news, let's talk about the beautiful photo you see here, shared by Beverly Morgan. It reminds me of something I came across while reading a critical essay on 'Heart of Darkness', a novella by British-Polish writer Joseph Conrad. In it, a literary scholar grumbled along the lines of, "…just how many times are we supposed to write about, celebrate, photograph and appreciate the sunset? It's the same ball of hydrogen every time…" Thing is, all sunsets are the same. Yet, all sunsets are different. As is this one.

Now coming to today's top story. Resident physicians at Stanford Health Care claim their wages and working conditions are really bad. Bad enough to protest officially. Presently, the union representatives are bargaining with the authorities at Stanford to make some serious changes. Read Sue Dremann's report for details.

Have a fabulous Friday.

Ashwini Gangal, filling in for Michelle.
