Good morning, Redwood City!

Michelle here. It's been a long three weeks, but it feels good to be back. Thank you to Ash, who has done a fantastic job! If you want to send her a note, you can reach her here. Ash will be headed over to the Palo Alto Weekly for editor duties, so she'll still be around.

A lot has happened in the few weeks that I have been gone.

Most recently, the city council updated its anti-displacement strategy directing city staff to find a partner to provide tenant and landlord assistance and anti-harrasment assistance. The aid would include education and mediation between landlords and tenants. The council also wanted staff to investigate adding additional provisions within the Just Cause eviction policy, namely amendments to the city's relocation assistance ordinance.

Chris Sturken, who voted against the action last week, in an Instagram post, wrote that he didn't think the ADS "has gone far enough."

"..An [Anti-Harassment Policy and strengthening our Just Cause for Eviction Policy with right to return]…are part of that manifestation of our values for the following reasons: these policies would be… a deterrent to the bad actors in the community taking advantage of their tenants and disrespecting them…," Sturken wrote.

And thanks to Jill Clardy for the stunning photo of Broadway on a summer day!
