Good morning, Redwood City!

Can you feel it? It's been getting warmer throughout the week. The highs in Redwood City are expected to hit a max of 85 degrees by Sunday. Being from Houston, I thought I'd be fine. But just standing outside for 10 minutes, and I already wanted to head back indoors. But I'm not complaining; the days have been beautiful lately.

Still, I'm eager for that Fall sweater weather.

With the change in season and the cooler weather, we also welcome a slew of festivals. Festival season is my favorite season. Just last weekend, in Belmont, scores of folks went to the Greek Festival. In Redwood City, September is jam-packed with festivals. In just two weeks-ish, the Egyptian Festival will roll into town with live music and yummy food.

Friday, Sept. 15 marks the start of Hispanic Heritage Month, an annual celebration to honor the contributions of Latinos in our community. Redwood City will mark the occasion by throwing a massive festival on Sunday, Sept. 17 on the Square. It's always a good time and a great way to learn a lot about various Latin cultures.

And, of course, there's Oktoberfest. This will probably sell out. It did for the days I wanted to go to last year, so I'd suggest checking it out early.

And I would be remiss if I didn't mention our own event, the Moonlight Run & Walk, on Sept. 29th. I'll be running one of the booths, so you can come by and say hello! Embarcadero Media has been putting on the event for nearly 40 years. Dogs are welcome. You can register here
